New: the blog has been re-envisioned to geek out over my favorite hobby, Magic the Gathering. You've been warned.

I also use Twitter a bit and write poetry on Chapbook.

You can axe me pretty much anything.

Just lost a Modern match to Zoo 1-2. I rolled him easily game 1, then game two lost a close one to a top deck burn spell with him one Geist swing from dead. I missed a white source on turn 4 after drawing with Esper Charm to play my own Elpeth and he got to land his. Then, I screwed up my River of Tears triggers and couldn’t hit it with Tar Pit. Post-board, Zoo seems to like to bring in Bloodbraid Elf against control, which makes sense.

Snapcaster actually seems to even that up pretty well. You can often Snap into a Path, hit their cascade target and then trade with the Bloodbraid. Also, I didn’t get to see Timely in that game, which would have been pretty big too, in terms of racing Elspeth. He brought in Gaddock Teeg (I took out most of my four drops) and Dispel (I took out 4 Instant and brought in 4 Sorcery).

So, yeah, Elspeth is still looking good in the main.
