New: the blog has been re-envisioned to geek out over my favorite hobby, Magic the Gathering. You've been warned.

I also use Twitter a bit and write poetry on Chapbook.

You can axe me pretty much anything.

ffssynchronize asked: Now I don't play MTGO, but HOW could Figure of Destiny cost 40,000 tickets? Am I confused when it comes to the value of just one ticket?

Figure of Destiny was apparently in a set that wasn’t drafted much on MTGO for some reason that did not impact paper Magic. On top of that, right now everyone is scrambling to get stuff for PTQ season and the removal of Wild Nacatl and Punishing Fire made Figure suddenly good again. That is my theory.

A ticket is basically worth about $0.97 as far as I can tell. I mean, tickets cost a dollar, but if you were to sell your tickets on Ebay, you’d obviously get less than a dollar per since no one would ever pay more than the retail rate for them.
