Body of Lies

I just got back from a private screening for my office at Body of Lies. Several Russel Crowe scenes were filmed at our office and so our cool CEO bought out a theater for a bunch of us to watch together this afternoon.

Verdict: not bad. I wouldn’t have paid to go see this, because it’s just not my type of movie and I rarely do theaters. However, having seen it for free, I did enjoy the film. The treatment of all the players involved, good guys, bad guys, the good bad guys and the bad good guys was pretty well rounded and treated as a complicated affair and not one that can be dismissed or taken lightly from any angle.

I thought Leonardo DiCaprio did a good job. Crowe’s role was a more simple one, well executed but not spectacular by design. The film is worth checking out even if you won’t recognize your lunch break spot as the place from which the CIA influences the Middle East while enjoying a sandwich.
